“With so many sources of online inspiration available to brides these days, it’s really easy for them to find pictures of what they want for their big day. But not every style or look that you fall in love with will suit you as a bride,” says make-up artist Clarita Smit. “I recommend booking a make-up trial at least four weeks before your wedding. Your make-up artist will be able to highlight your best features, and they might recommend something different to what you think will suit you. Don’t forget, we see you in a different light, and all we want to do is enhance your beauty and give you a beautiful, photo-ready look.”
OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR
“I love the old Hollywood look, it’s just so gorgeous. For this look I added some lash extensions and used a winged liner to change her eye shape a little and to open them more. I applied Stila Cosmetics’ Kitten eyeshadow in Champagne to the inner corner of her eyes to really highlight them. This opens her eyes, makes the whites more prominent, and provides that healthy glow. Bold red lips warm up her eye colour and give her look a glamorous feel. Because it is an old Hollywood look I stayed true to the ‘no shimmer’ rule and created a cut-crease with matt browns and nude eyeshadows. If you have hooded eyes, this style will suit you perfectly.”
