We may not have Hollywood stylists on speed dial or instant access to the best designer labels, but that doesn’t stop us from drawing fashion and beauty inspiration from the red carpet! This month, our favourite style hits come courtesy of the Met Ball (which, despite its punk theme, still managed to produce some wedding-worthy looks) and the Cannes Film Festival. At both events, celebrities shone in glamorous evening wear, including metallic dresses with shimmering details, monochromatic gowns and outfits with vintage leanings (the Gatsby influence was particularly strong at Cannes). Red lips ruled (winter brides take note) and so did side-partings and retro waves in the hair.
