For a signature bridal shower, throw a Bohemian-style picnic in a large garden, nearby park, or one of the National Botanical Gardens found in each of South Africa’s major cities. If the season or weather won’t cooperate, bring the outdoors in by decorating your living room using plants, flowers and foliage.
NATURE IN A BOX
To set the mood for a picnic party, craft an invitation using handmade paper and place inside a kraft paper box lined with moss. Go on a scavenger hunt to add decorative natural elements to the parcel – think flowers, leaves, feathers, paper butterflies, a packet of seeds, or wooden cut-outs spelling ‘love’.
ECLECTIC STYLE
As the garden itself is the main focus, only a few decorations are needed to set a relaxed and happy scene. Use paper bunting made from strips of boldly coloured paper and worn metal lanterns hanging from the branches.
SPARKLE AND SHINE
As evening falls take photos with lit sparklers, the guests can write words of love and encouragement in the air, and capture these on film.
